The Overview
The Institute for Well-Being (IWB) at Towson University is located in the heart of uptown Towson, MD. It is made up of five centers that each offer a wide spectrum of programs dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of the surrounding community. The centers offer professional healthcare services from certified healthcare experts and act as a teaching facility to aspiring graduate healthcare students from the university.
The IWB had a goal of expanding its reach by educating and empowering the community. While working as a graphic designer at the IWB, I was tasked with the job of bringing their vision to life. With a strong visual direction, I was able to create a cohesive suite of informational marketing flyers for each of the five centers.
PHOTOGRAPHY + LAYOUT DESIGN
I began by choosing photography that highlighted the people from the community and their positive experiences at the IWB, as well as the student practitioners that held the framework together. Next, I completed rounds of strategic copywriting and editing to perfect the messaging of each center.
After finalizing the copy for the flyers, I implemented polished typographic layouts for each design to display large volumes of information in a manner easily consumable for the target audiences of the IWB. Finally, I designed a tiger stripe pattern as a unifying element across each flyer to utilize Towson University’s brand standards while catching the reader's eye with a sense of vibrancy.
